Restaurant
Trèsind Studio
A three-Michelin-star Indian tasting-menu restaurant on Palm Jumeirah, reimagining regional Indian cooking with produce sourced from UAE farms.
A no-frills Pakistani canteen in Satwa serving since 1978, loved for its nihari, mutton karahi and fresh naan at very low prices.
Ravi has been feeding Satwa since 1978 and has become something of a Dubai institution, drawing office workers, taxi drivers, chefs and curious visitors to the same plain tables. The menu is long, the portions are generous and the spicing is bold, which explains why it is busy at almost any hour.
Go for the slow-cooked nihari or a mutton karahi, mopped up with freshly baked naan. It is a budget meal by any measure. Note that several other restaurants in Dubai use the Ravi name; the original is the one in Satwa, so check the location before you set off. Seating is basic and turnover is quick, so it is ideal for a fast, hearty meal.
