Restaurant
Disfrutar
Three-Michelin-star restaurant in the Eixample run by former elBulli chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas, serving long, playful tasting menus.
A lively El Born counter bar where cooks at the griddle send out a stream of seafood-led small plates to diners perched along the bar.
Good to know
Cal Pep is one of Barcelona's classic bar-counter restaurants: sit on a stool, let the staff guide you, and plates arrive straight from the griddles behind the bar. The menu runs to more than 70 dishes, with fish and shellfish at its heart, and the energy of the counter is a big part of the appeal.
The bar works on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive before opening to get a seat, especially in the evening. A small dining room at the back takes reservations and is the better choice for groups. It is closed on Sundays and opens only for dinner on Mondays.
The counter is first come, first served, but the small dining room seats 26 and booking ahead is recommended.
Sundays, and Monday lunchtimes.
