Bar
Boadas
A tiny Art Deco cocktail bar by La Rambla, opened in 1933 by Miguel Boadas and still devoted to expertly made classic cocktails.
An El Born speakeasy reached through a fridge door at the back of a pastrami bar, named number one in The World's 50 Best Bars in 2022.
Good to know
Paradiso hides in plain sight: step into a small pastrami bar on Carrer de Rera Palau, walk to what looks like a refrigerator door and you are through into a curving, wood-lined cocktail lounge. The bar topped The World's 50 Best Bars list in 2022, has ranked in it every year since 2018 and received the list's Legend award in 2026.
The drinks are inventive and often theatrical, with presentation that is as much part of the serve as the flavour, though the bartenders will happily make a classic. It is usually busy, and entry has been managed through a virtual queue at the door, so arrive soon after opening, especially at weekends, and check the website for the current booking arrangements.
