Thing to do
Night Safari
Opened in 1994 as the first zoo designed around nocturnal animals, explored by tram and walking trails through six geographical zones after dark.
A 10-kilometre chain of trails linking Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill and Kent Ridge parks, crossing the wave-shaped Henderson Waves bridge.
Good to know
The Southern Ridges join Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park into roughly 10 kilometres of trails, boardwalks and bridges above the city's southern edge. The centrepiece is Henderson Waves, Singapore's tallest pedestrian bridge, which stands 36 metres above Henderson Road and is shaded by curving timber ribs that are lit after dark.
Start early or late in the day to avoid the midday heat, carry water and wear proper shoes. A popular section runs from Mount Faber across Henderson Waves and along the forest walk towards HortPark, and you can join or leave at several points. HarbourFront MRT station is near the Mount Faber end, and Labrador Park or Kent Ridge stations serve the western end.
The connected trails total about 10 kilometres.
