Runner Bean Tours
A family-run Barcelona walking tour company founded in 2010, best known for its donation-based Gothic Quarter and Gaudí tours starting from Plaça Reial.
A Barcelona company running architecture walks led by architects, with themed tours on Gaudí, urbanism, the waterfront, the Olympic city and contemporary design.
Good to know
Barcelona Architecture Walks has run tours since around 2010, and its walks are led by architects rather than general guides. The aim is to explain how the city was built and why it looks the way it does, so the programme goes well beyond the Gaudí checklist.
Themed routes include Gaudí and Modernisme, the Eixample and urbanism, Barcelona and the sea, the 1929 and 1992 transformations, the work of Ricardo Bofill and RCR, landscape and urban resilience, plus a Sagrada Família visit with a specialist guide. These are ideal for travellers with a real interest in design and cities. Book ahead, as dates are scheduled rather than daily, and wear comfortable shoes.
