Why we recommend it

Miguel Boadas, who grew up in Havana's bar culture, opened this bar in 1933 hoping to bring something of the Floridita to Barcelona. Nearly a century later, Boadas is one of the city's oldest cocktail bars, and its small room keeps the Art Deco atmosphere that leads it to call itself a living museum of hospitality.

There is no elaborate menu to study; ask for a daiquiri, a martini or a Manhattan and watch it mixed in front of you. The room is small and fills quickly in the evening, so an early-evening visit is the best bet. It sits at the top of La Rambla, a minute from Plaça de Catalunya.
