Why we recommend it

Up a sweeping staircase inside Gare de Lyon, Le Train Bleu was created for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, and its gilded ceilings, chandeliers and huge painted scenes of destinations served by the railway make it one of the most spectacular dining rooms in Paris. The menu is classic French, served with old-fashioned ceremony.

Lunch and dinner are served every day, and the lounge bar opens from early morning, so even a coffee or a drink before a train lets you see the room. The restaurant asks guests to book only through its own website or TheFork, as fraudulent booking sites exist, or by phone or email.
