1. Lokál Dlouhááá
A long, lively Old Town beer hall from the Ambiente group serving tank beer and well-made Czech pub classics such as fried cheese, schnitzel and sausages.
View details — Lokál DlouháááEating in Prague has changed enormously in the last two decades. Classic Czech food is still easy to find, and the best places to try it serve it with care: Lokál Dlouhááá pours tank beer alongside fried cheese, schnitzel and sausages, U Fleků has brewed its own dark lager since 1499, and U Modré kachničky in the Lesser Town is known for roast duck and game. For meat lovers, Kantýna and Naše maso combine butcher's counters with simple, excellent cooking at fair prices.
At the top end, Prague now has several Michelin-starred restaurants. La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise and Field both offer modern Czech cooking built on local ingredients, and Casa De Carli brings a North Italian touch to the Old Town. Mlýnec, beside Charles Bridge, and Café Imperial, with its tiled interior and Czech dishes from chef Zdeněk Pohlreich, sit in between. Book ahead for the starred restaurants and for popular pubs in the evening, check bills carefully in tourist areas, and remember that lunch menus are often the most affordable way to try a good restaurant. Tipping around 10 percent is usual when service has been good.
