Restaurant
Lokál Dlouhááá
A long, lively Old Town beer hall from the Ambiente group serving tank beer and well-made Czech pub classics such as fried cheese, schnitzel and sausages.
A small Old Town butcher's shop from the Ambiente group that cooks burgers, meatloaf, sausages and tartare at the counter from Czech meat.
Good to know
Naše maso, which means our meat, is a butcher's shop on Dlouhá Street run by the Ambiente group. It sells fresh Czech meat from the counter, but it is equally known for the simple dishes the butchers cook on the spot, and it has become a favourite lunch stop for locals and visitors who want a quick, excellent bite rather than a long meal. The shop is in the Gurmet Pasáž Dlouhá, a passage of food shops a few minutes from Old Town Square.
The space is small, with a busy, cheerful atmosphere. The menu changes with what the butchers have prepared, but typical dishes include a burger made from freshly ground beef, meatloaf served in a bun, sausages, steak tartare and grilled cuts such as steaks. There are also smoked meats, broths and ready-to-eat dishes. Everything is about the quality of the meat, so the accompaniments are kept simple: bread, mustard, pickles and a beer. It is one of the best value meals in the Old Town.
Expect to queue at lunchtime, when office workers and food lovers fill the shop, and be ready to eat at the counter or take your food away. Ordering is straightforward: tell the staff what you want and they cook it in front of you. It is a good choice for solo travellers, couples and anyone who wants a fast, filling meal between sights, but it is not set up for large groups or for long, sit-down dinners, and there is very little for vegetarians.
The Dlouhá shop is open from Monday to Thursday from 11:00 to 22:00, and on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00. It is closed on Sundays. Ambiente also runs a second Naše maso in the Holešovice market hall, with its own opening hours and seating, if you are exploring that area.
Naše maso is a short walk from Old Town Square and from Náměstí Republiky metro station on line B. Lokál Dlouhááá, the group's beer hall, is a few doors away on the same street, so it is easy to continue with a beer after your meal. The Dlouhá třída tram stop is also close by.
