Good to know
Set on the artificial Burj Khalifa Lake between The Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, the Dubai Fountain was designed by WET, the Californian firm behind the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas. Its 275-metre system can fire water up to around 150 metres into the air, timed to music that ranges from Arabic classics to film scores. It reopened in October 2025 after a renovation.
Watching from the promenade costs nothing, and evening shows repeat every half hour, so there is no need to rush. For a better angle, cross the footbridge towards Souk Al Bahar, or book a seat on the small boats or the lakeside boardwalk for a closer view. The first evening shows are busiest; later performances are calmer and still frame Burj Khalifa beautifully.
