Good to know
Burnt Ends is chef-owner Dave Pynt's barbecue restaurant, now based at Dempsey Road, where almost everything on the menu passes through a custom four-tonne brick kiln with two ovens and a set of grills. It was ranked in The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2026, and the counter seats facing the fire are the most sought-after in the house.
Expect smoky, ingredient-led cooking and a menu that changes often. Reservations open in advance and fill quickly, so plan early; the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, with lunch from Thursday to Saturday. An adjoining cocktail bar takes its own bookings, which is useful if you cannot get a table. Dempsey is best reached by taxi.
