Attraction
Burj Khalifa
The world's tallest building, rising 828 metres over Downtown Dubai, with observation decks on levels 124, 125 and 148 open to ticketed visitors.
A free contemporary art centre on the Jaddaf waterfront, with rotating exhibitions, a research library, a sculpture park and creek views from the roof terrace.
Good to know
Run by the independent organisation Art Jameel, this creekside centre is one of the best places in Dubai to see contemporary art from the Gulf, the wider region and beyond. Exhibitions change through the year and fill a series of spacious galleries, and admission is free for everyone.
Beyond the galleries, the Jameel Library is an open reference collection on art of the region, and the Sculpture Park and roof terrace give good views over Dubai Creek. There is a restaurant, a shop and free Wi-Fi, so it is easy to spend a relaxed afternoon here. The centre is closed on Tuesdays and opens later on Fridays. It sits a little out of the way in Al Jaddaf, so a taxi is the simplest way to arrive; there is parking beside the shop.
