Yaowarat (Chinatown) Street Food
Bangkok's Chinatown, a 1.5-kilometre stretch of gold shops, neon signs and evening street food stalls along Yaowarat Road.
One of the world's largest weekend markets, with more than 15,000 stalls across 27 sections selling clothes, crafts, plants, antiques and street food.
Good to know
Chatuchak is a weekend institution for Bangkok residents and visitors alike. More than 15,000 stalls are organised into 27 numbered sections, selling everything from vintage clothing and handmade ceramics to houseplants, home décor and pets, with food vendors and juice stands squeezed in between.
The sheer size can be overwhelming, so pick up a map at the entrance and decide on a few sections rather than trying to see it all. Arrive in the morning before the heat and the crowds peak, carry small notes and wear comfortable shoes. BTS Mo Chit and MRT Chatuchak Park and Kamphaeng Phet stations all serve the market, and the neighbouring Chatuchak Park offers shade when you need a break.
