View details — The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues BarToronto's nightlife is strongest on live music. The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar on Queen Street West presents around 19 shows a week, most of them pay-what-you-can, and it does not take reservations. Further west along Queen Street, the Horseshoe Tavern has hosted everyone from Stompin' Tom Connors to the Rolling Stones since 1947, and Lee's Palace on Bloor Street West combines a rock concert hall with the Dance Cave nightclub upstairs. Most shows at both are for ages 19 and over, so bring photo ID.
For a bigger night, Massey Hall, open since 1894 and restored in 2021, is the city's historic concert hall, with a smaller TD Music Hall in its new music centre. If you would rather drink than dance, Bar Raval on College Street pairs pintxos, sherry and cocktails in a curved mahogany room and opens from 1pm every day, while Steam Whistle Brewing pours its pilsner in a 1929 railway roundhouse beside the CN Tower. Check listings well ahead, as popular shows sell out.
