Good to know
Barrafina is built around the counter: diners sit on stools facing the chefs as tapas are cooked in front of them, in the style of a busy Spanish bar. The menu mixes classic dishes with daily specials based on seafood, cured meats and seasonal produce.
Dean Street is walk-in only, with no reservations, so seats go on a first come, first served basis. Arrive just before lunch opens at 12:00 or the evening session at 17:00 to avoid the longest wait; while you queue, drinks and small plates are served at the standing bar. A covered, heated terrace offers extra space, also without bookings. Order a few plates at a time and watch what the chefs are preparing. Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square stations are nearby.
