Why we recommend it

Ronnie Scott's was founded by saxophonist Ronnie Scott in 1959 and has hosted many of the biggest names in jazz in its intimate room on Frith Street. Today it runs two shows a night, with dining until late.

Book tickets in advance for well-known acts, as the best nights sell out; some shows are door sales only, so check each listing on the website. Tables close to the stage are the most sought after. Upstairs at Ronnie's offers a smaller programme of events. Allow time for a meal before the music starts, or come for the later show if you have already eaten in Soho. Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square stations are a few minutes' walk away.
