Hotel
The Savoy
A landmark luxury hotel on the Strand, open since 1889, with Thames views, the American Bar and the Gordon Ramsay Savoy Grill.
A Mayfair grande dame dating back to 1812, famed for its Art Deco interiors, afternoon tea and long association with royalty and celebrity.
Good to know
Claridge's has stood on Brook Street in Mayfair for more than two centuries, tracing its origins to 1812. Much of its character comes from the Art Deco extension and interiors added after the First World War, and the hotel is part of the Maybourne group alongside The Connaught.
For non-residents, afternoon tea in the Foyer, or a drink in one of its bars, offers a taste of the hotel without the room rate; the art deco Painter's Room bar opened in 2021. Rooms range from classic to Art Deco in style, so state a preference when booking. Mayfair's galleries and Bond Street shops are on the doorstep, and Bond Street station, on the Elizabeth line and Underground, is a few minutes' walk.
