Restaurant
Mikla
Mehmet Gürs's rooftop restaurant atop The Marmara Pera, serving a Michelin-starred New Anatolian menu with panoramic views over the old city and Bosphorus.
Chef Fatih Tutak's Bomonti tasting-menu restaurant, holding two Michelin stars and a Green Star, reworking Turkish culinary traditions with modern technique.
Good to know
Chef Fatih Tutak returned to Istanbul after years cooking in Asia and opened this restaurant in Bomonti, north of Taksim. The kitchen builds a long tasting menu around Turkish dishes, ingredients and regional traditions, reinterpreted with precise modern technique, and it is the only restaurant in the city listed with two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide, alongside a Green Star for sustainability.
This is a special-occasion dinner rather than a casual meal, so book well in advance through the restaurant's own channels and allow a full evening. Dietary requirements are best raised when reserving. Bomonti is a short taxi ride from Taksim or Nişantaşı, and the surrounding former brewery district has bars for a drink afterwards.
