Restaurant
Turk Fatih Tutak
Chef Fatih Tutak's Bomonti tasting-menu restaurant, holding two Michelin stars and a Green Star, reworking Turkish culinary traditions with modern technique.
A long-running family seafood restaurant in a 1927 wooden house in Cankurtaran, a short walk from the Blue Mosque, serving meze and seasonal fish.
Good to know
Founded by Sabahattin Usta, a fisherman's son from Tirilye on the Sea of Marmara, this family restaurant began in the back streets of Sultanahmet and later moved into a wooden mansion dating from 1927. His sons now run it, and in warm weather the garden tables are the ones to ask for.
The menu revolves around seafood and seasonal fish: mussel pilaf, monkfish sautéed with olive oil and herbs, bonito cooked in its own fat and sardines grilled in vine leaves, finished with apricot and ice cream. A garden lunch set menu runs from 12:00 to 16:00. It is about five minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque, so book for dinner after a day of sightseeing.
