Why we recommend it

Few hotel addresses in Rome compete with the Hassler's position at the top of the Spanish Steps, beside the church of Trinità dei Monti. The hotel has been welcoming guests since 1893, and its 82 rooms are individually designed, with additional accommodation in Il Palazzetto, a historic building alongside the steps. Via Condotti's fashion boutiques are a few minutes' walk below.

Dining is a major draw: Imàgo, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, looks out over the city's domes, and there is also the Salone Eva and Palm Court, Carmen's bar and a seventh-floor terrace. Even if you are not staying, booking dinner at Imàgo is a way to enjoy the view. Ask for a room facing the city when reserving, as outlooks vary.
