Gardens by the Bay
A 105-hectare waterfront garden at Marina Bay, known for its Supertree Grove, two vast glass conservatories and a free evening light show.
A Tang dynasty-style Buddhist temple in Chinatown, completed in 2007, housing a revered tooth relic, Buddhist museums and a rooftop prayer wheel.
Good to know
Completed in 2007, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a striking red-and-gold building in Chinatown designed in the Buddhist style of the Tang dynasty. The relic it is named after is displayed in a chamber on the fourth floor, and the building also holds museum galleries on Buddhist art and culture, plus a roof terrace with a large prayer wheel in the Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda.
It is an active place of worship, so visit quietly and dress modestly: bare backs, off-shoulder tops, shorts and mini-skirts are not permitted, and non-vegetarian food and pets cannot be brought inside. Chinatown MRT station is about five minutes away, and Maxwell Food Centre is just across the road for lunch.
