Hotel
Raffles Singapore
Singapore's grand colonial hotel, opened in 1887 by the Sarkies brothers, now an all-suite property with butler service and the birthplace of the Singapore Sling.
Moshe Safdie-designed integrated resort with 1,850 rooms across three towers, crowned by the SkyPark and its rooftop infinity pool 191 metres up.
Good to know
Marina Bay Sands opened in 2010 and its three towers, joined at the top by the ship-like SkyPark, have reshaped Singapore's skyline. Designed by Moshe Safdie, the resort has around 1,850 rooms and suites, plus a shopping mall, casino, theatres, celebrity-chef restaurants and the ArtScience Museum on its doorstep.
The main reason most guests book is the rooftop infinity pool, around 191 metres above ground and reserved for hotel guests, with views across Gardens by the Bay and the city. It is a large, busy property, so expect queues at peak check-in times and around the pool at sunset. Bayfront MRT station connects directly to the complex, making it easy to reach the rest of the city.
