Restaurant Guy Savoy
French fine dining from chef Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace, with a Michelin star, Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond awards, tasting menus and a Krug…
Neon-lit Strip diner and cocktail lounge open since 1972, serving big breakfasts and diner classics late into the night, with the fire-pit Fireside Lounge next door.
Good to know
The Peppermill is a slice of 1970s Las Vegas that has barely changed, and that is exactly why people love it. It opened on the North Strip in December 1972 and is still known for its neon glow, Tiffany-style flamingo lamps, plush royal blue booths and mirrored walls. Next to the restaurant, the Fireside Lounge is built around a fire pit, and the whole place feels like a film set, which in a way it is.
The Fireside Lounge hosted the filming of Casino, including the flame-lit scenes with Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone, and the Peppermill has also appeared in Showgirls, The Cotton Club and CSI. For film fans, a drink in the lounge is part of the appeal, and the lounge's 64-ounce Scorpion cocktail is designed for sharing.
In the restaurant, the menu is classic American diner food in generous portions. Breakfast is the highlight for many visitors, with the French Toast Ambrosia, a large Fresh Fruit Salad and the Maserati omelet among the best-known orders. The Peppermill Burger and a Bloody Mary made from scratch are popular later in the day. Portions are large, so sharing is a good idea if you want to try more than one dish.
The Peppermill is open from 7am to 2am Monday to Wednesday, with last seating at 1.15am, and open 24 hours from Thursday to Sunday. That makes it a reliable choice for an early breakfast before a day trip or a late-night meal after a show. Expect a wait at peak brunch times and after midnight at weekends. It suits families during the day, groups of friends at night and anyone who wants an affordable meal with a sense of old Las Vegas.
Even if you only stop for coffee, the room is worth seeing.
The restaurant is on Las Vegas Boulevard South on the North Strip, between the Center Strip resorts and The STRAT. It is an easy taxi or ride-share from anywhere on the Strip, and it makes a good starting point for an evening on the north end of the boulevard. Combine a late breakfast here with a drive out to Red Rock Canyon, or finish an evening with a nightcap in the Fireside Lounge.
