Best Attractions in Miami (2026)
Miami's sights are spread out, so the easiest way to plan is by area. Downtown's Museum Park holds two of the big ones side by side: Pérez Art Museum Miami for modern and contemporary art, and the Frost Museum of Science with its three-level aquarium and planetarium. A short drive north, Wynwood Walls shows large murals by artists from around the world, while on Miami Beach the Bass Museum of Art and the Wolfsonian-FIU cover contemporary art and design.
Further south, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is the city's grandest historic house, and Coral Gables adds the spring-fed Venetian Pool and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Key Biscayne's Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park combines a beach with the 1825 lighthouse, and Zoo Miami is a full day in itself. Check opening days carefully, as several museums close on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and look out for free evenings such as Thursday after 5pm at PAMM and Friday evenings at the Wolfsonian. Buy timed tickets online where offered, start outdoor sights early to avoid the midday heat, and use taxis or ride-shares to link areas, as distances are long.
