Best Hotels in Vancouver (2026)

Downtown is the most practical base for a first visit. The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, opened in 1939, and the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, opened in 1927, both stand on West Georgia Street and put the Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Square and the Bill Reid Gallery within a short walk. The Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, a small family-owned Relais & Châteaux hotel, is opposite Robson Square. On the waterfront in Coal Harbour, Fairmont Pacific Rim has a rooftop pool and harbour views and is next to the Canada Place cruise terminal, which suits cruise passengers.

For a different feel, stay outside the core. The Sylvia Hotel, built in 1912, sits on English Bay beside Stanley Park and is pet friendly with no pet fee. The Granville Island Hotel is the only hotel on the island, with rooms looking across False Creek. The Burrard, a converted 1956 motor inn on the edge of Yaletown and the West End, lends free bikes for the seawall, and Skwachàys Lodge in the Downtown Eastside is an Indigenous social enterprise hotel with 18 artist-designed rooms. Book early for summer and cruise season, when rooms fill and prices rise.
