Best Hotels in Nice (2026)

Where you stay in Nice shapes your trip. The Promenade des Anglais is home to the grand hotels, including the Negresco with its pink dome and art collection and the Art Deco Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée with its heated pool, and staying here gives sea views and easy beach access. The area around Place Masséna and the Jardin Albert 1er, where the Anantara Plaza stands, is the most central base, a short walk from both the old town and the sea. At the eastern end of the bay, Hôtel La Pérouse sits at the foot of Castle Hill with sweeping views, and Hôtel Beau Rivage, at the entrance to the old town, has its own private beach.

The streets of the modern centre, a few blocks back from the sea, offer better value: Hôtel Le Grimaldi is a colourful boutique hotel, and Hôtel Windsor combines artist-decorated rooms with a tropical garden and pool. Budget travellers can stay at Villa Saint Exupéry Beach, a sociable hostel in a former casino in the centre. Book early for summer and for the Carnival, when prices rise and rooms sell out. Many central hotels have no parking, so check before arriving by car, and ask for a sea view only if the hotel is on the seafront.
