View details — Sheikh Zayed Grand MosqueAbu Dhabi's sights are spread across three main areas, so it helps to plan by district. On Abu Dhabi island and the mainland, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan and Qasr Al Hosn tell the story of faith, government and the city's origins. On Saadiyat Island, the Cultural District gathers Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi and the Abrahamic Family House within a short distance of each other. Yas Island, near the airport, is the home of the big theme parks: Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
A good first plan is one day for the city sights, one for Saadiyat and one or two for Yas. Visit the Grand Mosque in the late afternoon to see it at sunset and after dark, and check its dress code and visiting times before you go. Qasr Al Watan also has a dress code and an evening show. On Saadiyat, start with the Zayed National Museum for context, then spend the afternoon at the Louvre, which is closed on Mondays. Book theme park tickets online and look at combined tickets if you plan to visit more than one park. Most of the major attractions are indoors and air-conditioned, which makes them good choices in the hotter months.
