Nightlife in Abu Dhabi is centred on licensed venues, most of them in hotels, so many of the best bars are found in the city's resorts and towers. For views, Ray's Bar on level 62 of Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers is the classic choice for sunset cocktails, and SUSHISAMBA Abu Dhabi, in the same complex, combines dinner with DJs, dancers and musicians. On Saadiyat Island, Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort mixes a beach lounge with a Far East-inspired restaurant and live music.

On Yas Island, W Lounge at W Abu Dhabi opens on Friday and Saturday nights with a resident DJ and views over the Formula One track and marina. Near the exhibition centre, Brick is a relaxed rooftop kitchen and bar at Aloft Abu Dhabi, open every evening, and on the Corniche, The Tavern at the Sheraton is a British-style pub showing live sport until late.
