View details — ZestSeoul's nightlife is spread across several districts, each with its own character. Gangnam and the streets around Dosan Park are home to the city's most acclaimed cocktail bars, including Zest, ranked second on Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2026, and Alice, a speakeasy reached through a flower shop. In the old city, Bar Cham pours cocktails built on Korean spirits inside a hanok in Seochon, and Charles H. at the Four Seasons brings a classic hotel bar mood to Gwanghwamun.
Itaewon offers a more relaxed, international scene. All That Jazz, open since 1976, is the country's oldest jazz club and hosts live music almost every night, while Magpie Brewing, a pioneer of Korean craft beer, pours its pale ale, IPA and seasonals near Gyeongnidan-gil. Hongdae, around the university, is the place for clubs, live indie music and late nights. Seoul stays up late, and many bars open until 01:00 or 02:00, but the subway stops around midnight, so plan on a taxi home. Small cocktail bars fill quickly, so arrive early in the evening or check their social media for booking and waitlist details. The legal drinking age is 19, and you should carry identification. Combine areas sensibly, for example dinner in Seochon before Bar Cham, or a Gangnam evening at Zest and Alice, which are on the same street.
