Hotel
Raffles Singapore
Singapore's grand colonial hotel, opened in 1887 by the Sarkies brothers, now an all-suite property with butler service and the birthplace of the Singapore Sling.
A 37-room boutique hotel in restored 1895 riverside godowns on the Singapore River, with industrial-chic interiors and the restaurant Po.
Good to know
The Warehouse Hotel opened in 2017 inside a trio of godowns completed in 1895 on the banks of the Singapore River, restored by the local hospitality group Lo & Behold. With just 37 rooms, it feels intimate, and the design leans into the building's industrial past with high ceilings, exposed beams and warm, low lighting.
The lobby bar is a good spot for a drink even if you are staying elsewhere, and the hotel restaurant, Po, is a convenient option for dinner without leaving the building. The riverside location sits between Robertson Quay and Clarke Quay, so you can walk to bars and restaurants along the water. Havelock MRT station is close by, and the river path leads towards the city centre on foot.
