Why we recommend it

Lloyd's Inn is a small, minimalist boutique hotel on a quiet residential street in the River Valley area, close to the southern end of Orchard Road. Its 34 rooms are clean-lined and pared back, with white walls and blond wood, and the atmosphere feels closer to a design-conscious residence than a conventional hotel.

It suits travellers who want calm surroundings while staying within walking distance of Orchard Road's shopping and the bars and restaurants of Robertson Quay. Rooms are not large, so pack light. Somerset MRT station is around ten minutes' walk, and Fort Canning Park and the Singapore River are both easy to reach on foot.
