1. Rick’s Café
A restaurant and piano bar opened in 2004 in a 1930 mansion against the medina walls, recreating the bar from the film Casablanca, with international and Moroccan dishes.
View details — Rick’s CaféCasablanca is one of Morocco's best cities for eating out, partly because it is the country's business capital and partly because of its long French and Mediterranean influences. Seafood is a speciality, from the old-school La Taverne du Dauphin near the port to Le Cabestan and A Ma Bretagne on the ocean. For Moroccan cooking in a heritage setting, try Dar Dada and Riad 1930 near the medina or maQam in the Habous, while La Grande Table Marocaine at the Royal Mansour shows how refined the cuisine can be.
Rick's Café, a recreation of the bar from the film Casablanca, is a popular evening out with live piano, and Iloli in Gauthier is the city's most acclaimed Japanese restaurant. For a cheap, filling lunch, simple places such as Snack Amine in the centre serve tagines, fish and grills at low prices. Booking is recommended for the better restaurants, especially at weekends and for sunset tables on the Corniche. Lunch is usually served from around midday and dinner from the early evening, often running late. Many restaurants serve alcohol, but not all, and opening hours can change during Ramadan, when some places close at lunchtime and open for the evening meal instead.
