Best Cafés in Casablanca (2026)

Café culture runs deep in Casablanca, and it comes in two distinct forms. On one side are the traditional places: the Moorish café inside the Sqala bastion on the edge of the medina, with its garden and ocean views, and Pâtisserie Bennis in the Habous, a family-run pastry shop dating back to the 1930s and famous for its gazelle horns and chebakia. Classic pavement cafés such as Café de France on United Nations Square carry on the city's French-influenced habit of lingering over a coffee and watching the world go by.

On the other side is a newer generation of modern coffee shops. Bondi Coffee Kitchen and Belati Coffee serve espresso-based drinks and healthy dishes in contemporary interiors, and they are comfortable places to work or meet friends. For something sweet, Amande et Miel specialises in almond and honey pastries. Most cafés open from the morning into the evening, and mint tea is available almost everywhere. During Ramadan, many cafés change their daytime hours, so check before setting out. Carry some cash, as smaller cafés do not always accept cards.
