Bar
Lady Bee
Alonso Palomino and Gabriela León's cocktail bar, now in Barranco, ranked ninth on The World's 50 Best Bars 2026 for its seasonal journeys through Peruvian ingredients.
A speakeasy hidden behind a working tailor's shop on Avenida La Mar in Miraflores, with live Latin music and cocktails inspired by Peru's ingredients and textiles.
Good to know
Sastrería Martínez is one of Lima's best-known bars, and getting in is half the fun. At the front of the building is a real tailor's shop, where you can be measured for a suit made by Atelier Firenze. To reach the bar, ask the tailor for the password, and you will be shown through to the large room hidden behind. The bar sums up its own idea neatly: sharp cocktails in the back, tailor shop in the front.
The space behind the shop is much bigger than the entrance suggests, with clusters of comfortable tables, an imposing bar and a stage where a band plays Latin music. It is a good choice if you want an evening that mixes drinks with live music rather than a quiet conversation at the counter.
The cocktail list is inventive and often reworks the classics, drawing on Peruvian ingredients and on the country's textile traditions, a fitting theme for a bar behind a tailor's. The menu is organised around Peru's six biomes, so a round of drinks becomes a tour of the country from the coast to the Amazon. The house signature, the Mr. Martínez, mixes 18-year-old whisky with vermouth, blueberry syrup, coffee, lacto-fermented papaya and cinnamon. The bar food is also highly rated, so plan to eat while you drink.
In October 2026 Sastrería Martínez was ranked 37th on The World's 50 Best Bars list, one of two Lima bars in the ranking alongside Lady Bee. That recognition means it can be busy, especially at weekends, so book ahead by phone where you can.
It suits groups of friends, couples and anyone who enjoys a bit of theatre with their drinks. If you are curious about the tailoring side, you can arrange a fitting in the shop before heading through to the bar, which makes an unusual souvenir of a trip to Lima. On Avenida Mariscal La Mar, Mayta is a few doors away at number 1285, and El Pan de la Chola has its brunch and pizza branch at number 1081, so a full evening of dinner and cocktails without a taxi is easy to arrange. Opening hours are not published in a form we could confirm, so check by phone before you go.
