Why we recommend it

Lady Bee is the most acclaimed bar in Peru. It was opened in 2021 by Alonso Palomino, who leads the drinks, and his wife Gabriela León, a chef who trained at Noma in Denmark, with her sister Alejandra running operations. The founders set out to close the gap between Lima's famous food scene and its bar culture; as Palomino has put it, the drinking culture was behind the food and they wanted to change that. In 2025 the bar won the Art of Hospitality Award from The World's 50 Best Bars, and in October 2026 it climbed to ninth place on The World's 50 Best Bars list, up from 13th the year before.

The original bar in Miraflores seated only around 20 people. In July 2025 Lady Bee reopened in a purpose-built space designed with the architect Adriana Floistad, and it is now on Avenida Pedro de Osma in Barranco. The new bar uses a tasting-menu format in which the drinks take centre stage and food plays a supporting role, with each cocktail paired with an element from the kitchen. There are no bottles on the back bar, so guests choose products rather than brands, and the room is laid out so the team can see every guest.

The drinks are built on Peruvian produce. Every cocktail starts, in Palomino's words, with one core ingredient that is real, local and traceable, and the menu takes guests on seasonal journeys through the country using fruits, spirits and even vegetables. The Three Sips Martini, made with Intira gin from Cusco, sherry and extra-dry vermouth, is served with a garnish of olive, salicornia, sea lettuce and trout caviar from Puno on a three-compartment wooden spoon designed by León. The Oca Mashua uses an Andean distillate of red oca and mashua as a tribute to Peru's thousands of potato varieties. The team has even travelled to the Amazon to research new ingredients.

Lady Bee suits cocktail enthusiasts, couples and anyone who wants to see why Lima now matters on the world bar scene. Reserving ahead is sensible, and check the bar's Instagram account, @ladybee.lima, for current hours and booking details.

Avenida Pedro de Osma is also home to the Museo Pedro de Osma, Tostaduría Bisetti, Central and Kjolle, so you can easily combine a museum visit, dinner and a late drink in the same street.
