Hotel
Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet
A luxury hotel in a converted early 20th-century neoclassical prison, steps from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque in the heart of Sultanahmet.
A five-star Kempinski hotel built around a restored 19th-century Ottoman palace on the Bosphorus shore, with an infinity pool and 317 rooms.
Good to know
The Çırağan Palace was built in the 1860s for Sultan Abdülaziz, designed by members of the Balyan family, and was gutted by fire in 1910. Restored and joined by a modern hotel wing in the early 1990s, it is now a five-star Kempinski property with 317 rooms, and its long waterfront terrace sits directly on the Bosphorus.
The outdoor infinity pool appears to merge with the strait itself, and the Sanitas Spa includes a hammam. Tuğra is the hotel's fine-dining restaurant, alongside several other restaurants and bars. Choose a Bosphorus-view room, as the garden side looks inland. Beşiktaş and Ortaköy are walkable, but you will want taxis or ferries to reach Sultanahmet.
