Hotel
Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul
A five-star Kempinski hotel built around a restored 19th-century Ottoman palace on the Bosphorus shore, with an infinity pool and 317 rooms.
A modern Beyoğlu hotel in Tepebaşı topped by the Michelin-starred Mikla restaurant, with a panoramic terrace and the Pera 77 jazz and world-music venue.
Good to know
The Marmara Pera is a practical, modern base in Tepebaşı, a short walk from İstiklal Avenue, the Pera Museum and the Galata Tower. Its chief draw is upstairs: the Michelin-starred Mikla restaurant and its terrace bar occupy the top floors, and the panoramic terrace gives sweeping views across the Golden Horn to the old city.
In the building you will also find Pera 77, a venue for jazz and world music, so evenings out need not involve a taxi. Rooms on higher floors facing the Golden Horn are the ones to request. The Tünel funicular and Şişhane metro station are nearby, making it easy to reach both Taksim and the historic peninsula.
