Marina Bay Sands
Moshe Safdie-designed integrated resort with 1,850 rooms across three towers, crowned by the SkyPark and its rooftop infinity pool 191 metres up.
Singapore's grand colonial hotel, opened in 1887 by the Sarkies brothers, now an all-suite property with butler service and the birthplace of the Singapore Sling.
Good to know
Raffles opened in 1887 under the Armenian Sarkies brothers and has been a national monument since 1987. Today it is an all-suite hotel of 115 suites set around verandas and tropical courtyards, with personalised butler service for every guest. Its bars and restaurants are destinations in their own right, including the Long Bar, where the Singapore Sling was created, and the Tiffin Room, serving North Indian cuisine in a room dating from 1892.
Even if you are not staying, the Long Bar and the hotel's restaurants welcome visitors, making a drink here an easy way to see the building. For guests, the location is excellent, within walking distance of the Civic District, Marina Bay and Bugis. City Hall and Esplanade MRT stations are both close by.
