Exfoliation is a beneficial step for acne-prone skin as it helps remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. It’s important to choose a gentle exfoliator with salicylic acid(Paula’s Choice). Exfoliate once or twice a week, and focus on congested areas.

After exfoliating, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and moisturize to hydrate the face. However, caution should be exercised to avoid excessive scrubbing or harsh products that can worsen acne. With regular exfoliation, you can achieve clearer skin and improved texture.

#Face Care Step 3 – Toning

Toning helps balance pH levels, tighten pores, reduce oiliness, and combat acne-causing bacteria. By choosing toner with acne-fighting ingredients like witch hazel or tea tree oil, you can enhance the effectiveness of your routine and target blemishes effectively. Patting toner onto the face gently and allowing it to absorb fully prepares the skin for the next steps in your routine.

By prioritizing sun protection, you can safeguard your skin from harmful UV rays while maintaining a healthy complexion. Sun screen can also be used on the skin for those that expose their skin a lot either in the beach or during picnic and others.

Let’s move on to the topic of non-comedogenic makeup for acne-prone skin.

When dealing with acne-prone skin, choosing non-comedogenic makeup products is essential to avoid clogging pores and aggravate breakouts. Choose oil-free, non-comedogenic, and fragrance-free makeup formulas that won’t contribute to acne formation.

Ensure thorough removal of makeup before bed to let your face breathe and prevent pore blockage. Some ingredients found include: salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, niacinamide, zinc oxide, and aloe Vera

If you combine sun protection and non-comedogenic makeup, you can create a comprehensive approach to managing acne-prone skin while maintaining a healthy and radiant complexion.
