Café
Bouchon Bakery
Thomas Keller's French bakery at The Venetian, known for artisanal breads, viennoiserie and traditional French desserts, with coffee blended by Equator Coffees.
Award-winning Las Vegas coffee roaster with a café and on-site roastery in the Arts District, open daily from 7am to 4pm and selling its own beans.
Good to know
Vesta Coffee Roasters is one of the city's leading independent roasters, and its Arts District café is the place to taste its coffee at the source. Vesta has been roasting since 2016 and describes its beans as fresh-roasted, specialty-grade coffee, and it says its roasting has won awards. The Arts District café has the roastery on site, so this is where the beans are produced as well as served.
The menu runs through the espresso classics and filter coffee, and the house blends give a good sense of the roaster's style. The best-selling coffees include the Goose Bumps Espresso Blend, the Goddess Blend and a single origin from Monte Alban in Oaxaca, Mexico. Bags of beans are available to take home in nitrogen-flushed, resealable bags, which makes Vesta a good stop for a gift or an edible souvenir.
The café is open seven days a week from 7am to 4pm, so it is a daytime stop rather than a late one. Online ordering for pickup is available if you want to grab a drink on the way to somewhere else. Vesta also runs a café with a bakery and drive-through on West Sahara Avenue near Summerlin and two counters at the Durango Resort in the south-west of the valley, where the lobby café has the largest pastry selection.
The Arts District café suits coffee enthusiasts, remote workers and anyone exploring the district on foot. It is a relaxed place to start the day before browsing the galleries and antique shops, or a mid-afternoon pick-me-up before the bars and restaurants open. Prices are in line with other specialty coffee shops and well below resort coffee bars.
Because the café is also the roastery, it is a good place to ask about the current single origins and how each blend is best brewed at home.
The café is on South Casino Center Boulevard, in the heart of the Arts District and a short walk from Esther's Kitchen and the breweries of the area. Downtown and the Fremont Street Experience are a few minutes away by car. From the Strip, a taxi or ride-share is quickest; if you are driving, check local street parking rules before leaving the car.
