Siem Reap's grand hotel since 1932, an Art Deco landmark with a pool, spa, Cambodian restaurant and the celebrated Elephant Bar.

Good to know
Onederz Siem Reap is one of the most convenient budget bases in town. It is part of a hostel group with six sites in Cambodia, including Phnom Penh, Kampot, Sihanoukville and on the islands of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem, and its Siem Reap hostel sits right in the centre: the Angkor Night Market is a minute's walk away, Pub Street two minutes, and the Old Market around five minutes. Drivers are simply told to head for Onederz near Pub Street.
The accommodation suits a wide range of travellers. Dormitories come with four, six or 12 beds, and the four- and six-bed dorms are available as mixed or female-only rooms. Dorm guests get bunk beds with lockers, air conditioning, wifi and a socket near each bed, with shared bathrooms. For more privacy there are standard doubles and twins, deluxe twins and triples, and superior rooms with balconies, all with private bathrooms, a safe, air conditioning, a TV, kettle, fridge, towels and toiletries.
Facilities are excellent for the price. The hostel has four swimming pools, open from 7am to 10pm, and a restaurant and bar serving breakfast, coffee, bakery items, juices, beer, wine and cocktails every day. There is a co-working space and common areas for meeting other guests, a laundry service and a reception that is open 24 hours a day. Note that there is no lift, so rooms are reached by stairs.
Onederz has a sociable side without being overwhelming. It runs daily events and activities, including evening socials, themed events and weekly game nights, and it organises daily group and private tours, which is a simple way to plan your temple visits. It suits solo travellers, backpackers, couples on a budget and digital nomads.
Angkor Wat is about 15 minutes away by tuk-tuk, so sunrise trips are easy to arrange, and the central location means you can walk to dinner, markets and bars in the evening. Contact the hostel by phone or email to book or ask about tours, and book ahead for private rooms in the high season. Bring a padlock for the dorm lockers, and earplugs if you sleep lightly.
