Why we recommend it

Kenzi Tower Hotel occupies one of the two towers of the Twin Center, the pair of skyscrapers designed by the Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill that dominate the skyline of central Casablanca. It is one of the flagship properties of the Kenzi Hotels group and carries a five-star rating. Its location, close to the business district and a main shopping street, makes it a natural choice for business travellers, but the views and facilities appeal to leisure visitors too.

The hotel has 237 rooms and suites, and many of them enjoy views across the city, which is the main reason to stay this high up. Rooms on the higher floors give a real sense of the size of Morocco's largest city, especially at night when the lights come on. Facilities include a spa with a swimming pool, a fitness centre and a range of meeting rooms with a banquet team, so it handles conferences and events as well as individual guests.

There are two restaurants and a lobby bar, but the best-known space is the sky bar on the 28th floor, which offers a 360-degree view over Casablanca. Even if you are not staying here, it is worth going up for a sunset drink, and it makes a good introduction to the scale of the city on your first evening.

The Kenzi Tower suits business travellers, couples and anyone who likes a modern high-rise hotel with a view. It has less period character than the historic hotels of the centre, but its facilities make it a practical, well-equipped base. Ask for a room on a high floor when you book if the view matters to you.

The Twin Center is on Boulevard Zerktouni in the Maârif area, a busy commercial district full of shops, cafés and restaurants. From here it is a short taxi ride to the Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche and the city centre, and the shopping streets of Maârif are on the doorstep. Mohammed V International Airport is reached by road or by train to one of the city stations followed by a taxi, so allow plenty of time at busy periods.
