IDAM by Alain Ducasse
Alain Ducasse's IDAM occupies the top floor of the Museum of Islamic Art, serving Michelin-starred contemporary French tasting menus with views across Doha Bay.
Argan, in the Al Jasra Boutique Hotel on the edge of Souq Waqif, is a good-value Moroccan restaurant known for its tagines and couscous, with a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Good to know
Argan is a Moroccan restaurant inside the Al Jasra Boutique Hotel, part of the Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli, set on a pedestrianised street at the edge of Souq Waqif. It holds a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 Michelin Guide for Doha, and the inspectors call it a great-value restaurant, which makes it one of the easiest Michelin-recognised meals in the city to fit into a souq evening.
Tagines and couscous are the specialities. Desserts are worth leaving room for, particularly the jawhara, a Moroccan dessert the inspectors recommend. Refreshing mocktails are part of the experience, and the Michelin inspectors suggest taking mint tea afterwards in the hotel's lounge. The restaurant does not serve alcohol, in keeping with most of Souq Waqif.
The hotel group's website lists Argan as open daily from 12.30pm to 11pm, and it also serves shisha in a majlis-style lounge. Bookings are managed by the restaurant and are sensible at weekends, when the souq is at its busiest. A meal takes around an hour and a half. There is parking, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible and credit cards are accepted.
Argan suits couples, families and small groups who want a sit-down dinner in a quieter setting than the busy café terraces of the souq. It is also a good option for visitors staying in one of the Souq Waqif boutique hotels, since it is only a short walk away.
The Bib Gourmand it holds is the Michelin Guide's award for good-quality, good-value cooking, which Argan shares in the 2026 Doha guide with Jiwan, Fenyal and Isaan. Souq Waqif's restaurants fill up after sunset and at weekends, so an early dinner is usually calmer.
The restaurant is on Al Jasra Street, on the edge of the souq, so you can walk here after exploring the lanes, the Falcon Souq and the spice stalls. Souq Waqif is a short taxi ride from the Corniche hotels and West Bay, and Msheireb station on the Doha Metro is within walking distance of the souq. After dinner, the Corniche and the Museum of Islamic Art are close by for an evening walk along the bay.
