Bar
Szimpla Kert
Budapest's original ruin bar, in a rescued former stove factory on Kazinczy utca, with a maze of rooms, a courtyard, live music and a farmers' market.
A rooftop bar above Andrássy út with 360-degree views over Budapest, offering heated igloo tables in the colder months.
Good to know
360 Bar is one of the best-known rooftop bars in Budapest, set on top of a historic building at Andrássy út 39, roughly halfway between Deák Ferenc tér and the Opera House. As the name suggests, the terrace has an all-round view across the rooftops of Pest, taking in the dome of St Stephen's Basilica, the Parliament and, in the distance, the Buda Hills.
The bar serves cocktails, wine, beer and light food on a large open-air terrace. In the colder months it turns into the Igloo Garden, with heated transparent igloos on the roof, so you can sit in comfort and still see the city lights. Igloo bookings come in two forms: a table for two to five guests in an igloo that may be shared with another party, or a private igloo for up to ten people. Reservations are made in two-hour slots, and you should check the price, any minimum spend on food and drink and the cancellation terms before you confirm.
The bar is open from 14:00 until midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and until 02:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Sunset is the most popular time, especially on warm evenings and weekends, so book a table or arrive early if you want a good spot by the edge. Prices are higher than in ordinary bars in the city, reflecting the location and the view. Check the current age policy with the bar if you are visiting with teenagers.
It suits couples, friends and anyone who wants a drink with a view without going to a hotel bar. The atmosphere is relaxed in the afternoon and livelier in the evening. For larger groups and private events, contact the events team by email in advance.
Andrássy út is a World Heritage-listed avenue lined with mansions, boutiques and theatres. Opera station on metro line M1 is a few minutes' walk away, and Oktogon, served by M1 and trams 4 and 6, is also close. The Hungarian State Opera House, Liszt Ferenc tér and the theatres of Nagymező utca are nearby, making the bar a good choice before or after a performance.
Sunday to Wednesday 14:00 to midnight, and Thursday to Saturday 14:00 to 02:00.
In the colder months, heated transparent igloos on the rooftop can be booked as shared tables or private igloos.
A shared table seats two to five; a private igloo takes up to ten people.
Bookings are made in two-hour slots.
Booking is recommended for sunset and weekends, and for igloos.
Prices are higher than in ordinary bars, reflecting the view.
