Ariete is chef Michael Beltran's Michelin-starred restaurant in Coconut Grove, offering a tasting menu and an a la carte menu that change with the seasons.
Good to know
Ariete is the restaurant of chef Michael Beltran on Main Highway in Coconut Grove, and it describes itself as a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is a dinner-only restaurant with a seasonal approach, and it is one of the reasons food lovers make the trip south to Coconut Grove.
There are two ways to eat here. The tasting menu, called Versos Sencillos, is served daily and can be paired with wine, while an a la carte menu is also available every day for those who prefer to choose their own dishes. The restaurant notes that its offerings change with the seasons, so the dishes on any given night may differ from those you have seen online. Guests with allergies are asked to tell staff, as not every ingredient is listed on the menu.
Ariete is open for dinner only. From Wednesday to Thursday and on Sunday it serves from 5.30pm to 10pm, with last seating at 9.30pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm to 11pm, with last seating at 10.30pm. Since early October it has been closed on Monday and Tuesday. Reservations are made through SevenRooms, and booking well ahead is wise for weekends. A service charge of 20 percent is added to all checks, which is worth knowing when you plan your budget.
The restaurant suits couples, food lovers and special occasions. The tasting menu is the best way to understand the kitchen's style, so allow two to three hours for it; the a la carte menu is a better option if you want a shorter meal. Private events can be arranged by email or through an online enquiry form.
Menu items are subject to change, and the kitchen warns that some dishes may include raw or undercooked ingredients, so mention any dietary needs when you book.
Ariete is at 3540 Main Highway, in the centre of Coconut Grove, where the streets are pleasant for a walk before dinner. Panther Coffee and Fireman Derek's Bake Shop are also on Main Highway if you are in the area during the day, and Greenstreet Cafe at 3468 Main Highway is a casual alternative for brunch. A taxi or ride-share is the easiest way to get here from Brickell or Miami Beach.
