1. Fountains of Bellagio
Free choreographed water and light show on the 8.5-acre lake in front of Bellagio, with fountains set to music that run from the afternoon until midnight.
View details — Fountains of BellagioLas Vegas has two kinds of sight: the spectacle of the Strip and Downtown, and the desert landscapes that surround the city. On the Strip, the Fountains of Bellagio are free and run through the afternoon and evening, and the Sphere's LED exterior is visible from much of the boulevard after dark, while a show inside needs a ticket booked well ahead. Downtown, the Fremont Street Experience, The Mob Museum and the Neon Museum sit close together and make an easy half-day or evening, and the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is a quick photo stop at the southern end of the Strip.
Plan the desert sights around the heat and the clock. Red Rock Canyon requires a timed entry reservation for its Scenic Drive from October to May, the Hoover Dam's guided Dam Tour is sold on site on a first-come basis, and many trails at Valley of Fire State Park close from mid-May to the end of September. Go early in the day, carry plenty of water and allow half a day for each. Springs Preserve, home to the Nevada State Museum, is a good choice for families and a hot afternoon. Most visitors combine the Strip sights with one or two day trips rather than trying to do everything at once.
