Why we recommend it

The Musée Rodin occupies the Hôtel Biron, an 18th-century mansion where the sculptor worked in later life. Indoors you can follow his career through marble and bronze pieces, including The Kiss, alongside works by Camille Claudel, while the garden displays monumental casts such as The Thinker and The Gates of Hell among roses and clipped hedges.

The sculpture garden keeps the same hours as the museum and has a café, L'Augustine, making it an easy place to pause. Combined tickets with the Musée d'Orsay are available. Arrive at opening on a weekday for the quietest galleries, and note that the museum is closed on Mondays.
