Hotel
Atlantis The Royal
An ultra-luxury resort on the Palm Jumeirah crescent with sky-high pools, a beachfront, signature restaurants and access to the vast Aquaventure waterpark next door.
A palace-style luxury hotel at Madinat Jumeirah, laced with waterways and set on a private beach with views of Burj Al Arab.
Good to know
Jumeirah Al Qasr, whose name means the palace, is the grandest of the hotels within the Madinat Jumeirah resort. Designed in the style of an Arabian palace, it is reached along palm-lined drives and surrounded by canals that connect it to the rest of the resort and the Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
Guests have a private stretch of beach, pools and a spa, and the location puts Burj Al Arab directly along the coast. Among the resort's many restaurants is Pierchic, on a pier jutting into the sea from the hotel. Wooden abras carry guests between hotels, restaurants and the souk, which is part of the fun of staying. It is a good choice for a beach holiday with easy access to dining, rather than for exploring old Dubai, which is a fair taxi ride up the coast.
