Good to know
Chern is a design-led hostel in a quiet soi off Bamrung Muang Road, one of the old city's historic streets. Its clean, minimalist interiors are enlivened by Thai proverbs painted along the walls and beside the bunks, a small cultural touch that sets it apart from generic backpacker stays.
The location is a real strength for sightseeing on a budget: the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew are around ten minutes away, as is Khao San Road, and the Giant Swing and Golden Mount are close by. The nearest Skytrain is about a quarter of an hour away, so taxis, buses or river boats are often more practical. Contact the hostel directly for room types and current rates.
