View details — SidecarDelhi's nightlife has changed a great deal in recent years, and its cocktail bars now appear regularly on the Asia's 50 Best Bars list. Sidecar in Greater Kailash II and Lair in Vasant Vihar are the best known, while PCO, also in Vasant Vihar, is a speakeasy reached through a phone booth with a passcode. These bars are busy at weekends, so book or arrive early.
The grand hotels offer a different kind of evening. The 1911 Bar at The Imperial is an art deco room with leather seating and a mahogany counter, and Cirrus 9 on the roof of The Oberoi looks out over the Delhi Golf Course towards Humayun's Tomb, best enjoyed at sunset. For live music, The Piano Man in Malviya Nagar runs a weekly programme centred on jazz. Remember that alcohol is not served to anyone under 25 in Delhi, so carry ID, and use taxis or ride-hailing apps to get around late at night, as the bars are spread across the south and centre of the city.
